A Sunday at Terindah Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula

June 12, 2017

There’s nothing quite like getting out of the city for a day of wine, cheese and sailin’ the high seas (okay… sailin’ Port Melbourne). I was lucky enough to spend a recent Sunday with three friends at Terindah Estate. We long-lunched in The Shed and then mosied (moseyed?) on our way to The Deck, Terindah’s newest addition to their beautiful estate.

Terindah brings together award-winning wines, fantastic food and spectacular views across Port Phillip Bay and boasts one of the best views on the Bellarine Peninsula. The venue is stunning, modern and bright and airy with industrial beams and beautiful wooden decks wrapping around the cellar door looking over lush vineyards and sweeping ocean views.  If you are up for an adventure, catch the Port Phillip Ferry to Port Arlington Pier. Terindah is part of the Bellarine Peninsula Winery Shuttle service so as we got off the Ferry a shuttle bus was ready and waiting to take us to the winery. We were tres excited.

It was a crisp Autumn day, so we started with the 2016 Terindah Estate Rose (1 Bronze Medal). The rose was light, clean and delicate and was the perfect accompaniment for the fresh and light food we had ordered.

We started with some freshly shucked Pacific oysters (because ocean, ner!) and some freshly baked house bread with olive oil. The bread was soft and warm in the centre and encased in a salted crust. It was so tasty I would have been completely satisfied with the rose, oysters and bread. But this is a food blog, so of course there was more food. Continue Reading

I like talking about food, so let’s detail all my favourite local spots to eat, shall we? I live in East Melbourne but (literally) across is the road is Collingwood, which I spend most of my…

Son In Law in Collingwood

A Thai restaurant in Melbourne is nothing new, but when I was invited to dine at Johnston Street's colourful newest addition Son In Law, I knew I would be in for a tasty Thai treat. The Robert Burns Hotel in Collingwood is my little piece of Spain in Melbourne. I attended the Flamenco show and dinner and the food was fantastic, along with a wide range of Spanish wine. Melbourne dining favourite, Syracuse, has switched up the menu to introduce sharing plates for a more casual dining option while also launching a separate vegan menu, so those with dietary requirements can still experience the European inspired dishes Syracuse…
